Rules of the Battlefield

MapBid is a public, country-by-country leaderboard. There are no secret algorithms, no API keys, and no revenue splits. You pay to stand above everyone else in a territory. Rank is the bid — nothing else.

1. How Territory Ranking Works

• Minimum Entry: New listings start at $5 in whole US dollars. Bids already on a country's board stay at their amount until raised or surpassed.
• Claiming #1 Sovereign: To take #1 in any country, your bid must be at least $5 higher than the current top bid. Bidding less places you at the corresponding lower rank in that region.
• Equal Bids: Equal bids preserve chronological priority — the older bid retains the higher rank.
• Upgrading / Pay the Difference: If you already have a listing in a country, enter the exact same website or @handle again to raise your bid. You only pay the difference (minimum $1 increment).

2. What You Can List

• A product or startup website, GitHub repository, App Store URL, or X (@handle).
• No Invite/Chat Groups: Direct chat or group invite links (Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, Signal) are not allowed. The battlefield is for products, brands, and creators.
• No NSFW / Malicious Links: Pornographic, adult platforms, phishing, or illegal content will be instantly banned with no refund.
• Clean URLs: Tracking parameters and UTM affiliate tags are cleaned so clean clicks go straight to your domain.

3. Instant Territory Activation

Once payment confirms via Stripe / Polar, your rank on the map and leaderboard updates in real-time. Clicks on the leaderboard and map tooltips route directly to your website.
